From mile 518, hiker town, I got a ride out to the coast for a little R&R in Ventura and Santa Barbara. I sea-kayaked with dolphins, got a bag of fresh oysters to shuck on the beach, made a surprise visit on a bunch of old friends, got tattooed to commemorate my first 500 miles and month on the trail by a buddy I used to work with, and then finished out the night sharing stories with a bunch of rock climbers from over-seas who spent the last 7 weeks climbing in California. It was a great stop, and an awesome extension of the adventure, but i’m exited to be back on the trail tonight!
