Vagabond Scrapbook

a diary of wanderlust from the Pacific Crest Trail
Someone asked: “What was your “initial” point of inspiration for hiking the PCT?”  It was a good question, but one that I struggled to find an answer for.  I can’t ever remember not knowing about it.  I cross paths with it all the time.  It’s been a lingering plot detail in the background of my life story.  The closest I can come to pinpointing that moment might have been when I found this book for $1 in a bin at goodwill.  As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it, although I’m not sure that I knew why.  I read it in just 2 days, and then put it on my bookshelf, where it has sat ever since.  Maybe that was when the seed was planted.
